FAQ’s
How is nonverbal communication different in presentations, meetings, or media appearances?
Nonverbal communication changes depending on the situation. A gesture or expression that works well in a face-to-face meeting may not have the same impact during a presentation or on camera. Good communicators adjust their body language based on the audience, setting, and purpose.
Why do senior leaders often misunderstand the impact of their body language?
Many leaders focus on what they want to communicate rather than how they actually appear to others. Small changes in posture, eye contact, or timing can affect how confident, approachable, or trustworthy they seem. Without feedback, these differences are often missed.
What does behavioural precision mean in leadership communication?
Behavioural precision means using body language intentionally to support the message you want to communicate. It helps ensure that what people see matches what you mean, reducing confusion or mixed signals.
Can nonverbal communication be learned, or is it natural?
While some aspects of body language come naturally, effective nonverbal communication can be learned and improved. Training helps people become more aware of their habits, understand different situations, and make better communication choices.
How does observing others improve a leader’s influence?
Watching how others communicate helps leaders understand how body language affects people. By observing gestures, expressions, and interactions, they can learn what works, avoid common mistakes, and improve their own communication skills.
